Abstract


Objectives: This study aims to assess the subjective oral health perception and oral health behavior of elementary school students to identify their relevance to the DMFT index.

Methods: Based on the 7th National Health and Nutrition Survey in 2018, 1,073 elementary school students aged 7 to 12 were surveyed.
Analysis ia composite general linear model analysis was performed with the DMFT index as a dependent variable.

Results: An analysis of the impact on the DMFT index showed statistically significant results in age, number of brushing a day, oral examination status, and subjective oral health recognition.

Conclusions: This will require the development of oral health education programs that can improve oral health of elementary school students and support measures for oral health prevention and management of elementary school students.
